Donkey Island Season 1 Finale Tonight

Here's what's up! Tonight is the finale between VeryJosie and Smboatdrinks. We are playing a 10 cent rebuy with rebuys for the first 3 levels only.

With another tie we have another heads up match. VeryJosie runs good and wins. Xkm1245 is the next contestant voted off Donkey Island. This week during The Dank we will have the final 3. Voting works a bit different during this game. Only the person out of the remaining 3 who runs the deepest gets to vote. That person will decide who they are taking to the final 2 and who is going home.

What a crazy week. I'm sorry for all the delays. My computer crashed before and during the show on Sunday and I lost a hard drive. Luckily I keep back ups of most things but I did lose most everything I had for the game. Hehe I also lost 12,000 mp3s but that's not as big of a deal.

BDR is back up and running again tonight. I'll see if I can get the requests working on time.

We're down to our Final Five!

We lost Heffmike and BrainMc this past week. Heffmike was just the next victim of Operation Team Fish Take Over!!!! BrainMc was also a victim of this but he went down swinging. After a tie in the votes on Sunday between Smboatdrinks and BrainMc we had a heads up playoff match. As you can probably deduct, Smallboatdrinks was the winner.(duh)

7 and 8

This week was the first time all of our contestants were combined into one team.
Sunday's game was a wild fight to the end for immunity. But in the end JuliusGoat had his former team turn on him and he was out.
On Wednesday we had 6 contestants make the final table. But with only 8 of the 9 contestants making it to the game, Katitude was quickly voted off when she was a no show for the evening.

We're down to 8! 4 left from each of the original teams! It's anyone's game now.

Donkey Island #6

Dawnsummers was eliminated last week on Team Fish. Team Donkey continues to dominate but the competition has been fully entertaining.

Tonights Dank/Mookie is the last team event before we combine all players into 1 tribe.

The Immunity Bounty for this evening is on Hoyazo.
Also VeryJosie has put a $20 bounty on Heffmike in retaliation for the one he put on her last week.

On Sunday I tried a video broadcast again but I couldn't support the bandwidth. So just audio again tonight on BDR. But I am going to try again for video on Sunday. I have an upgrade to my internet service coming on Friday, just had to call them. 5X FASTER!(for $5 less? wtf?)

Sunday Bloody Sunday! Gonna be a fun one this week folks. First ever Multi-Entry Tournament that we have played together, $5 per entry with a limit of 4 entries. Will this come down to who has the biggest bankroll? All I do know is that it makes it very complicated to have an Immunity Bounty tonight. So here is what we're going to do. We haven't had to even give one out for the past couple weeks so we're going to try to ensure someone wins individual immunity tonight. Depending on how many people enter 4 times will depend on the advantage as well.(and how many people show up)

Here are the rules:
Each time you take out a player on the other team, you get 1 point.
The player with the most points on the team who does NOT win the team immunity will win the Individual Immunity Bounty.
Players taken out by non-player and vice versa means nothing. No points awarded to anyone.
A Player who takes out a player on his own team gets 0 points and is most likely to be voted off next.
Tie goes to who ever runs the deepest overall.

Does this confuses you? If it does? Just leave it to us and we'll tell you at the end who you can and can not vote for. Best to make double sure when you vote to send you secondary option just in care. Email all votes within 30 minutes of the end of the tournament to buddy@buddydank.com

Day 2 Results

Team Donkey had a very strong showing last night. XKM was the only member of Team Donkey left toward the end but he still only managed 11th. Team Fish had 5 people make the final table. HighOnPoker won the tourney and immunity for his team. The immunity bounty was handed out and not needed.
Riggstad was voted off by his team and is out of the game.

If a Contestant takes out Waffles(or the non-contestant that may have taken him out earlier) and they will have immunity even their your team loses. XKM1245 won it last week by taking buddydank out.

Hoyazo won the inaugural tourney on Sunday and won immunity for Team Fish. Team Donkey quickly voted off NumbBono.

We're Back On Bitches!

About a year ago or so I was mulling over a prop I had going with Bayne on some season of Survivor or other, and I suddenly had an idea. An inevitable idea. A great idea? Maybe. Maybe not. I guess we're about to find out.

Survivor + Poker.

A poker tournament in which the runners are playing normal poker, but are also playing for a prize pool that would be won along the lines of the popular/awful reality granddaddy, Survivor.

So here's the tentative plan.

I'm hosting the Donkey Island tournament series for a while.

Some things to note:

1) This will be a typical poker tournament on the Private tournament tab, open to all. You don't have to play the Donkey Island competition to play the tournament; however, you obviously also won't be involved in the competition for the additional prize.

2) If you do want to play the Donkey Island competition, transfer $20 to BuddyDank on Full Tilt Poker (first letter of city "C"). The first 16 entries will be accepted. Subsequent entries will be returned but the people who sent them will get right of first refusal if we run it again. Entries will form the prize pool.

If you are a contestant, these will be the rules:

* You will be randomly divided by Buddy into Team Fish and Team Donkey.

* To easily distinguish yourselves as contestants, choose the FTP avatar that corresponds to your team during event play.

* Each Mookie/Dank (Wed. 10:00 PM) and each Donkey Island (Sunday 10:00 PM) will be an event of the prop bet.

* Team play. For the first six events, the contestant who runs the deepest in the event and his/her entire team is immune from elimination. The losing team must vote one of their members out of the competition. The person receiving the most votes will be out of play and out of contention for the prize. In the case of a tie, the loser of a heads-up match between the two potential eliminate-ees will be out of play. Stakes and poker variant for the heads-up match is up to the contestants; play chip matches are acceptable.

* Individual play. After the 6th elimination, the teams will be merged, and all "contestants" will be required to vote one person out of the competition. The contestant who runs the deepest in the event will be immune from votes. Same tiebreaker rules as before apply.

* Final event. When there are only 2 players left, the contestant who lasts longest in the final event will receive 40% of the prize pool.

* Prize vote. The 14 previously eliminated contestants will vote on which of the 2 players should receive the remaining 60% of the prize pool.

* How to vote. Votes must be in prior to the event for both teams. Votes can be sent to Buddy Dank via IM, email, or on-air at BDR. Once you send your vote, it is official and cannot be rescinded. Votes for an immune person will not be counted. Votes sent after the start of an event will not be counted. In the odd case that a person who receives 100% of the votes is immune, the eliminated party will be the person who has the most prior votes. Ties will be handled in the way already laid out.

* I don't want everybody to feel like they have to grind out every event; thus it is not necessary for "contestants" to play every event in order to be able to vote. However, you obviously will need to play an event to win the last-longer for that event.

* Smack talk and blog rants are highly encouraged, provided they are funny.

* Using IM and texts and other media to form alliances and plan backstabbing are highly encouraged.

* Deals to chop the prize pool after the fact to wrangle votes is forbidden. We can't enforce this, but come on. Don't be lame.

* There are probably contingencies and ambiguities with this thing that I haven't thought about. Buddy Dank is our lovely host, and will be making any judgments and rule changes as needed to navigate oddities as they arise. To avoid conflict of interests, Buddy won't be playing. No one man should have all that power.
